At the corner of Perrin Beitel & Sun Shadow
El Queretano is named after the Mexican state nestled in the center of Mexico. They have the same hospitality you would find in the heart of Mexico--you can take that any way you’d like. I got one of the chefs, Victor, to show me around the stand. He told me its history and asked if I was a tourist. They serve the asada with cucumbers which negates the need to purchase a drink. The cucumbers are crisp and cool.
This stand, like many other stands, offers a 4 taco platter with barracho beans for $5.00. The barracho beans are great on a cold day. They are made with pork back. This gives them a fantastic almost indescribable flavor. To locate this stand, look for the flashing strobe light.
